Artist Statement:

I am a self taught painter who constantly seeks the artist within. Growing up poor in Oak Cliff, Tx, I have always felt the need to represent my culture and personal history. In my work, I engage in subjects as diverse as everyday life illustrations to contemporary structural design. My artistic visions are influenced by modern architecture, social, political and cultural issues.

Early in my career, I produced work that factored in my surroundings growing up as a child. Now, I find myself exploring deeper with different styles of painting combining abstract with realism. My weapons of choice are oil and acrylic paints which are used on paper, canvas and wood
